• Next Meeting

    The next NC-ITE Section Meeting will be a breakfast meeting on Wednesday, February 15th at Jax Cafe in Minneapolis.  The meeting will begin at 8:00 AM with a breakfast buffet starting at 7:30.  The topic will be the Lowry Avenue Bridge project.  Presenters will be Paul Backer, Hennepin County Construction Engineer, Emily Lueth with SRF Consulting, Inc., and Nick Juarez, Crime Prevention Specialist, with the City of Minneapolis Police Department's 2nd Precinct.

ITE 2012 Technical Conference and Exhibit

ITE 2012 Technical Conference and Exhibit LogoPasadena, California will be the site of next year's ITE Technical Conference and Exhibit.  The conference is planned for March 4-7 at the Pasadena Convention Center.  Details will be sent out by ITE as the date approaches.

2012 Joint MidwesternITE Annual Mtg & TRB 4th Urban Street Symposium

The MidwesternITE Annual Meeting in June 2012 will be held as a joint conference with the the TRB 4th Urban Street Symposium. This format will bring together two organizations that have greatly influenced transportation policy over the last decade.  The meeting is scheduled for June 24-27 in Chicago.  More information is available at the meeting website.

MWITE 2012 LogoThe program will include three days of presentations, technical tours, panel discussions, TRB Committee meetings, and small-group conversation circles covering a broad variety of topics. In addition to the excellent technical program conference activities the conferences will host the 4th Annual Collegiate Traffic Bowl, a Jeopardy-style completion of student chapters from regional universities.

NCITE consists of Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) members and affiliated persons residing in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.  NCITE is a section within the ITE's 4th District, MidwesternITE, which covers 11 Midwestern states.  NCITE was organized in 1963 and, like its parent organization, ITE, has its roots in the traffic engineering profession. Today, an engineering graduate need only be active in transportation or traffic engineering work to be eligible to join ITE. Only Members of ITE may be members of the Section; those individuals not eligible for ITE membership may join NCITE as Section Affiliates. As of 2011, NCITE’s membership total is 432 individuals, including members affiliated with the section’s three student chapters.
