ITE Midwest District Nominees Announced
The Sections comprising the Midwestern District nominate candidates to represent their respective Sections on the District Board and as Director on the ITE International Board on a rotating basis . This year, it is MOVITE’s turn to nominate candidates. Their nominees are:

Per the Midwestern District Bylaws, "Additional nominations for any office may be made by written petition signed by not less than ten eligible votersof which a minimum of two shall be from each Section. Each such petition shall be accomopanied by the written consent of the nominee and shall be received by the District Board Secretary-Treasurer [Kristi Sebastian] prior to May 1. Persons nominated for an office through the petition process must be from the same section required to provide the respective officer in the rotation [i.e. MWITE]..."
The election will be held this summer.
NCITE Sponsors Minnesota 2050
As of March 1st, 2012, NCITE is proud to be the newest sponsor of an organization called Minnesota 2050. The purpose of this group is to raise public awareness of the importance of maintaining investment in Minnesota's public infrastructure, including the roads, bridges, and transit facilities that serve as our transportation backbone. NCITE's $500 donation will be used to help fund creation of interactive content for the organization's website and publc outreach endeavors. More information on MN2050 is available at their website.
2012 Joint MidwesternITE Annual Mtg & TRB 4th Urban Street Symposium
The MidwesternITE Annual Meeting in June 2012 will be held as a joint conference with the the TRB 4th Urban Street Symposium. This format will bring together two organizations that have greatly influenced transportation policy over the last decade. The meeting is scheduled for June 24-27 in Chicago. The program will include three days of presentations, technical tours, panel discussions, TRB Committee meetings, and small-group conversation circles covering a broad variety of topics. In addition to the excellent technical program conference activities the conferences will host the 4th Annual Collegiate Traffic Bowl, a Jeopardy-style completion of student chapters from regional universities.
ITE 2012 Annual Meeting and Exhibit
The 2012 ITE Annual Meeting will be held in Atlanta August 12-15. Details, including registration information, hotel details, and the preliminary program are available on the meeting website.
Acording to the meeting website meeting sessions will feature a mix of presentation formats including hands-on practical application training workshops. Sessions will cover techincal state-of-the practice topics, advancement of the profession, and emerging issues designed to benefit transportation professionals in the public and private sector and students.
