Transportation Engineer

Responsibilities include:
• Design traffic controls and road projects
• Prepare construction documents, conduct traffic studies, determine system signal timing plans
• Review traffic impacts for proposed developments
• Provide traffic engineering expertise for studies, projects and operations
• Supervise traffic section employees

Requirements:
Graduation from an accredited university or college with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. Must be registered as
a Professional Engineer in the State of Minnesota. Four years of highway design or traffic engineering experience which
included experience in a lead worker capacity required.

Desirable Previous Experience beyond the minimum requirements:
1) Supervisory experience beyond the minimum requirement
2) Directing and supervising staff in meeting goals and objectives
3) Applying knowledge and experience to specific traffic situations and problems

Transportation/Traffic Engineer
Well established engineering/planning firm is looking for civil engineering candidates within its Transportation/Traffic Engineering Group.  This group is responsible for traffic impact studies, corridor studies, intersection analysis, traffic signal design and other traffic related studies.

Responsibilities will include supervision of traffic personnel, preparation of technical reports, presenting technical reports at public meetings, and conducting technical analysis using traffic simulation software.  Experience with highway capacity software such as Synchro/SimTraffic is required.  Experience with traffic analysis software such as, CORSIM, VISSIM and RODEL is desired.

Requirements include a BSCE, a PE license (MN) and 5 yrs experience in traffic engineering.  A PTOE license is desired.  Strong written/verbal communication skills are a must.
